On our blog, you will find all of the latest recommendations, information, and tips regarding skincare and the aesthetic industry.
As we transition into the busy back-to-school season, it’s the perfect time to get back to the basics of your skincare routine. Whether you're juggling the demands of a hectic schedule or looking to rejuvenate your skin after a summer in the sun, a well-rounded skincare regimen is essential.
Whatever your age, this is a great time of year to refocus and get back to the "basics" of daily skincare and assess which treatments and early inventions to schedule for the fall and winter in order to reach your skin goals.
A daily skincare routine is important for preventing aging skin and improving what you already have. Starting with a clear canvas is key.
Whether you are implementing a skincare routine for the first time or you want to make sure you cover all the basics - starting with high quality products is a MUST. If you start with high quality products, then they can do a lot of the "heavy lifting" for you.
If you want to establish a basic skincare routine, I recommend a 3-part routine: cleanse, target/treat, and protect.
I recently shared my everyday skincare routine over on Instagram with my favorite products from Alastin.
Early intervention for wrinkles, aging skin, or reducing the appearance of wrinkles includes scheduling regular maintenance treatments like facials, chemical peels and microneedling.
Facials are a chance for your esthetician to access your skin and target any problem areas. Look for a medical facial option, not just a fluff facial. A facial that focuses on treatment of the skin will include cleansing and exfoliating, chemical treatments, anti-aging therapies (i.e. light therapy, masks, etc.), extractions and more! Its also easy to combine a facial with a chemical peel!
Microneedling is a medical treatment that creates controlled micro injuries to the skin, forcing healing of the skin layers to renew skin texture and allow for deeper penetration of skin products. Microneedling should be done 1-5 times per year during the winter months.
3. Prevent signs of aging with early intervention
The next step of intervention when it comes to skincare is actively preventing aging with basic neurotoxins (i.e. botox, dysport, xeomin, jeuveau).
Neurotoxin injections reduce muscles movement and eliminate/minimize the appearance of wrinkles. The results usually last 3-4 months before your body metabolizes the toxin.
Thank you for trusting me with your beauty and wellness needs. I look forward to seeing you soon and helping you put your best face forward!
