The effects of neuromodulators (i.e. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau) typically begin to become noticeable within a few days after the injection and vary by brand. The peak effect usually occurs 1 to 2 weeks after injections with optimal results around 6 weeks.

Your body will naturally metabolize the neuromodulator over time, leading to results that last around 3-4 months.

Results are not permanent. Regular maintenance every 3-4 months is recommended for routine treatments.

There is minimal recovery time for neuromodulator injections. You can resume normal activities after the treatment, however we ask that you don’t apply pressure to the injection sites (no massaging, no hats, no facials, etc), don’t participate in vigorous activity, and don’t get in a hot shower, sauna, or hot tub for 24 hours. Following these aftercare instructions will help you get the best results possible!

This question is so common! First off, make sure you and your provider are dosing you properly. In the world of neuromodulators, dose equals duration. Underdosing or “baby botox” will not give you the best longevity for your treatment. Work with your injector to find the right dose for your muscle strength, your metabolism, and your preferred look. 

Furthermore, there is some weak evidence that suggests taking a zinc supplement twice a day for four days before and four days after your injections will help to prolong your results. Ask Amy for a recommendation on dose and brand.

People who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not candidates for treatment. People who have an infection or skin condition in the area to be treated or are allergic to the products or ingredients are also not candidates for therapy.
