The holidays sneak up fast. Between family photos, work parties, and New Year's Eve, it's the time of year everyone wants to look and feel their best. The secret to natural, seamless results is timing.
I'm Amy Hawkins, FNP-C, the injector behind 29 Aesthetics in Bluffdale, Utah. Here's a simple timeline to help you schedule each treatment at the right time, so you're glowing from Thanksgiving through New Year's.
Start strong with skin renewal. Microneedling with PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) helps boost collagen, smooth texture, and refine pores, giving your skin a fresh, healthy glow.
Why start early? Microneedling causes some redness for a few days, and collagen keeps building for weeks afterward. Starting in early November gives your skin time to heal and lets results peak right when the holidays arrive. If you want a series of treatments, starting even earlier gives you room for more than one session.
Book your tox about two weeks before your first big event. Botox takes up to two weeks to reach its full effect, so this timing means smooth, photo-ready skin right when you need it. It also leaves time for a follow-up if anything needs fine-tuning. For a full breakdown, see [how long tox takes to work](link to tox post).
If you're adding filler, the weeks before Thanksgiving are the perfect window. Whether you're restoring structure or adding soft volume, filler needs time for any swelling or bruising to settle before photos and parties. Booking at least two weeks out, and ideally closer to four, is the safest bet.
The most natural results come from looking at the whole face, not just one feature. Here's [why I take a facial balancing approach](link to facial balancing post).
If feeling your best from the inside out is part of your goal this season, starting semaglutide early lets you stay consistent through the holidays and step into the new year feeling confident and strong.
Semaglutide is a prescription medication, so it starts with a consultation to make sure it's safe and right for you. Results build gradually, which is why starting a couple of months ahead of the holidays makes the biggest difference.
When | Treatment | Why this timing |
|---|---|---|
2 to 3 months before | Semaglutide | Results build gradually over time |
6 to 8 weeks before | Microneedling + PRF | Time to heal and build collagen |
2 to 4 weeks before | Filler | Swelling and bruising settle before events |
About 2 weeks before | Botox | Reaches full effect right on time |
About two weeks. Botox takes up to 14 days to reach its full effect, and that timing leaves room for a touch-up if needed.
At least two weeks, ideally three to four. That gives any swelling or bruising time to fully settle.
It's best not to. Plan microneedling at least a few weeks ahead so redness has cleared and your skin has time to glow.
Often, yes. Doing them together is a great way to save time during a busy season. I'll recommend the right timing for your plan at your consultation.
The best holiday results start with a plan. Book a consultation and I'll map out the right treatments and timing for your schedule.
